This change also ensures compliance with European law, transposing pending directives and improving legal certainty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reform introduces <strong>improvements in visas, roots, work, study and family reunification permits<\/strong>The aim is to facilitate the regularisation of migrants, combat fraud and promote social and labour inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong>\u00a0Main novelties of the Aliens Regulation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>\u00a0Changes to visas<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <strong>specific title for visas<\/strong>which simplifies requirements and procedures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>All initial authorisations shall be for 1 year and renewals for 4 years.<\/strong>The Commission has also been able to avoid any irregularities that may arise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Facilitating changes of residence<\/strong>It will not be necessary to leave Spain in order to change from temporary to long-term residence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Jobseeker's visa extended to 12 months<\/strong> (previously 3 months), allowing migrants to find work in their sector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Creation of a new Arraigo and relaxation of requirements<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Spain becomes the <strong>only EU country<\/strong> with a specific figure of migratory regularization by means of <strong>roots<\/strong>now with five modalities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Social Roots<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Socio-occupational roots<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Family roots<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Socio-formative rootedness<\/strong> <em>(upgraded, with the possibility of exceptional renewal)<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Second Chance Arraigo<\/strong> <em>(new, for those who have had a residency in the last two years and did not renew it for non-penalisable reasons)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The number of required years of residence is reduced from 3 to 2 years.<\/strong>.<br><strong>Requirements are made more flexible and work is allowed from the outset<\/strong>both as an employee and as a self-employed person.<br><strong>All authorisations will be for 1 year, except for the family integration permit, which will be for 5 years.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It is estimated that 300,000 people will be regularised each year with these changes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong> More job opportunities and stability for migrants<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Most authorisations will allow you to work from day one, without the need for additional formalities.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Students will be able to work up to 30 hours a week<\/strong>This will facilitate their integration into the labour market.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A special permit is created for temporary and seasonal work.<\/strong>The EU's new labour market is a key element in ensuring better working conditions and protection against abuses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Employers will have more information and flexibility in recruiting migrants.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>What's new in the Residence for Studies and Training<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The duration of the authorisation to stay for study purposes shall be the same as the duration of the training.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ease of transition from student to worker with a streamlined process.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Better control over study centres to avoid fraud in the issuing of certificates.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong> Extension of Family Reunification and New Authorisations for Relatives of Spaniards<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The age of children eligible for reunification is extended to 26 years old.<\/strong> (formerly 21).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Unregistered partners may be reunited<\/strong>provided that a stable relationship is demonstrated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reunification is extended to children and parents of victims of trafficking, sexual or gender-based violence.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It is estimated that thousands of families will be able to benefit from this measure, especially those in which one of the members has recently obtained Spanish nationality.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong>What impact will this reform have?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It will facilitate the integration of migrants into the labour market and society.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It will increase the regularisation
