Renewals of residency and stays in Spain are essential procedures for extending legal residence in Spain. Depending on the type of authorisation (residence for work, stay for studies, among others), certain requirements must be met, such as financial means, Social Security contributions or proof that the studies have been completed. The application must be submitted to the corresponding Foreigners' Office within 60 days before the expiry date of the residence/stay card and up to 90 days thereafter, although the latter may entail penalties.
