Nebrija University has launched a new edition of its Mentoring Programme for first-year Law Degree students. In this initiative, forty professionals from the legal field individually guide students in their academic and professional development.
The director of the programme, Daniel Ortiz, emphasised that the main objective is to guide students in their vocation and prepare them for the different career opportunities in law, as well as to foster a mentor-mentee relationship that facilitates opportunities in the labour market.
The mentors include prestigious lawyers, members of the legal departments of large companies such as Telefónica, specialists in various branches of law, notaries, solicitors, arbitrators and professionals from the public sector.
Two professors participating in the programme, Dolores López Faraldos and Cristina Fernández Herrero, highlighted the experience as enriching for both students and mentors. For his part, the Dean of the Faculty, Alfonso López de la Osa, stressed the importance of forming "free minds" and the influence of the mentors on the character of the students. The director of the Department of Law, Ana Quintana, highlighted professional ethics as a key value that is transmitted through this initiative.
